I have been blessed to work on this huge collaboration that blends one of my favorite music genres (Lofi hip hop) and video game franchises (Final Fantasy). As a huge fan of both music and video games, I had the opportunity to lead our team at
Liquid + Arcade and collaborate with Chillhop Music and Square Enix. The client ask was to provide an execution to celebrate the Final Fantasy: War of The Visions 1st year anniversary. Showcasing 2 mobile games from Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and Final Fantasy: War of the Visions. We provided an hour long playlist that was livestreamed March 25th on Youtube and featured Lofi hip hop renditions of music from both games. These featured artists that worked on the project are few of my favorite producers including Philanthrope, SwuM, and Psalm Trees. This project was not only a celebration but was dedicated to all the fans who shared the same interests from totally different sides of the sub-genre spectrum.

We worked closely with Hiroki Fujimoto, game producer of FF: Brave Exvius and FF: War of the Visions, as well as Bastien, Design Coordinator, from Chillhop Music. It was a delicate balance of time management and meeting speedy deadlines given the 3 different time zones (US, Japan, and Netherlands). With our internal illustrator/animator Jose Cardenas we shared the visual and art duties with Chillhop illustrators and animators to showcase this hour long visual playlist. Following Chillhop Raccoon's roots from his classic bedroom visual to his walk in the city, we included easter eggs that Final Fantasy fans can find while listening. We also paired a narrative behind both games that follows Chillhop Racoon's journey as he meets and battles alongside these Final Fantasy characters. Thus, making this an official mix that lives amongst the many other fan made versions of lofi videos found on Youtube.

As a bonus we extended awareness on social platforms by providing FF x Chilllhop emotes/gifs that were use during the livestream as well as further use on giphy.com or IG stories. We also followed up with a recap video featured on that came out a month later featuring the Chillhop Music team and artists as they dig deeper into working on this collaboration on their IGTV.
